Katie Thome (1876 - 1946) Also known as Katie Hein, Grandma Murtaugh My grandmother was born on Christmas day, 1876 in Wadena, Minnesota to Nicholas Thome and Margaretha Noesges.  She married Reinhold Hein around 1901 in Wadena, Minnesota. Their children, all born in Wadena or Bertha, Minnesota were:  Margaret (19xx), Agnes B. (19xx), John N. (19xx), Robert J. (1910) and Mary Catherine (1912) Katie Hein (Thome) left Minnesota following my grandfather's death and I believe to moved to Glenwood Springs, Colorado where her father and brothers were living. My Dad spoke of growing up, or at least spending some time in Glenwood Springs. She married a Mr. Edward Murtaugh and had another son, Henry (Hank) Murtaugh. My brother Bob tells me that she was known as Grandma Murtaugh. They eventually moved to Amarillo and show up on the 1930 census there.  I'm not certain of the time they left Colorado nor the reason why, however, it is possible that her daughter, Margaret, and her family lived there at the time. She died in 1946 and is buried in Amarillo, Texas.
